The first farmer’s market of the season! Last summer we happily became regulars of this weekly Hudson event, and I’ve been longing for this day ever since it closed up last fall. Yesterday I picked up a Boston lettuce bigger than Panda’s head and a bunch of asparagus which I used to adorn the most delicious prosciutto melts for two days straight.  It’s a small market, but you can get a great selection of vegetables once the season really starts up – there are also meats, baked goods and other delights such as maple syrup products, jams, cheeses and home-cooked dishes. In the parking lot at the corner of Main and Selkirk, every Thursday afternoon from 3-7 pm. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Having such a lovely, busy weekend that I haven’t had time to post until now! It was a gorgeous, sunny, mother-filled Mother’s Day weekend around here – full recap later this week. This was the view from our bedroom on Saturday morning. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Finally getting to meet a precious new friend for the first time – he was very busy sleeping which must mean that he was excited to meet me too ;) Would you look at this adorableness? I am in awe of my dear friends Marie-Eve and Mike, who manage to make it look easy, even though it’s the toughest job a person can ask for. You are a lucky boy, sweet Theo. Happy, sunny Sunday, folks!

Celebrating the demise of last year’s taxes. Fennel soup and smoked mackerel with celery root and bacon, at Lawrence. Yum. Have a great weekend everybody!

True signs of spring. Now that winter’s leftover sand and sludge has washed away, pretty green and flowering things are popping up everywhere and the air smells fresh and delicious. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Sunshine, Christian (and Panda) birthday kisses, good friends dropping by with gluten-free cupcakes for breakfast, gifts in the mailbox, family chats and a hilarious phone call from my little nephews, sweet and thoughtful messages – feeling grateful, blessed and maybe a smidge more wrinkled ;) Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter and Passover!! Hope your weekend is full of family, friends, love and good food.

Sharing projects, both old and new. On Monday I got to share the process of Volume 2′s cover design on Pure Green Magazine’s blog – the issue is almost here! We’re all so excited about it. Get your limited time special subscription offer here. Then last night I received House & Home’s newsletter and I clicked on an item that caught my interest: Suzanne Dimma’s Best Organizing Secrets. Much to my delight, as I scrolled through the images I came upon a photo of our previous bathroom! So pleased that it’s still making the rounds – man do I miss that bathtub. I’ve never really posted about our old place (we were lucky enough to have the honour of Lake Jane and Design*Sponge do some of it for us) so I think I might do a little tribute to it next week. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Homemade apple crisp. Delicious, sweet, crispy-crunchy crust… tender, thick, warm apple filling… comfort in a bowl. Recipe here – replace berries with any fruit you like/whatever’s in season. I like to include the juice of half a lemon to the fruit mixture, adds a nice brightness. Gluten-free flour works a treat. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

A little – no, make that a LOT – of sunshine. 23 degrees and sunny! In mid-March! Granted, it’s pretty weird, but nobody’s complaining. I won’t wish you a happy weekend since my post is a bit late this week, so… happy Sunday evening!
